I'm guessing that you didn't start out in this small town?

Oh! Um...well not everyone starts out in New Bark. Some times they pop up in Goldenrod!

[ealaigh]

...And this Goldenrod City is within the same region, am I correct?

Yes! It's in Johto as well and it's a few weeks away from New Bark on foot.

What different modes of transportation are available in this place, if you don't mind me asking?

A lot of people use they're pokémon! Large pokémon that know "fly" are the best, really...though that's only because I don't know about riding on any. I'm sure you could ride a Ryhorn or something...

I know you can also purchase a bicycle which helps a lot! Some water pokémon can take you across the lakes if they know "surf" or you can take the ferry. There's also a bullet train you can ride at Goldenrod City to get to Saffron City.

Ah, there are no vehicles of any kinds in this world?

[Judging from the fact that riding being quite prominent in this place, despite how advanced it is.]

Well, I haven't seen any cars or anything, no.
